ATTN Professional and Home Chefs: spots still open for the May 26 Fish Chowder Championship

Join an amazing team celebrating local fish at the 3rd annual Fish Chowder Championship at River Walk Park in Winooski on Saturday May 26.

Are you a home-grown kitchen whiz who can own the room with your recipe? Are you an up-and-coming chef wanting to prove your merit on the scene? Does your restaurant have new spin on fish chowder? Enter this locally grown competition and test the merit of your claim. You might even win a $50-$500 cash prize!

Entrants must bring a copy of the recipe and two gallons of the finished entry in a working crockpot to River Walk Park by 4:30pm May 26. All fish must be from Vermont waters—no exceptions. All other ingredients will be judged with preference given to locally sourced (VT-grown and raised) ingredients.

Judging and festivities take place 5-8pm Saturday, May 26 at Riverwalk Park in Winooski. Everyone is welcome to come join the fun!

  • Doors open 5pm
  • Chowder tasting 5:30-7pm
  • Judging home cook-off entries 7pm
  • Judging professional chef entries 7:30pm

Local fish are the bounty of Lake Champlain, and a resource for all of us. Help highlight the value of this incredible food source by entering or supporting the Fish Chowder Championship!

This Lake Champlain International event is sponsored by the fine folks at Misery Loves Company, who will be pouring beer all night, and there will be music by the talented and ever-jammin' Marty Project.
